Buenas tardes, amigos! Right now I'm writing from Amelia's dad's living room in Guyamas, Mexico. I'm spending the week here with Mia, Mike (Mia's boyfriend,) and Jerod (Mike's friend.) So far there's been lots of chilling and good times for sure. Amelia and Jerod are making sopes in the kitchen for lunch at the moment, so I have time to write.
Things I have done so far...
- Beach combing: I've already collected a bunch of really badass sea shells in the short time I've been here. When I took them all back to the house and laid them out on the table though, I realized that nine of them still had hermit crabs in them. (Kind of startling watching part of your shell collection wander away.) I brought them back to the beach yesterday. <3
- Flea market browsing: The gang and I went to a flea market today and looked around. It's weird how different flea markets are in Mexico compared to the US. Lots of meat, cheese and vegetables, (I bought some really good stringy cheese that tastes like a cross between gouda and mozzarella,) LOTS of stereotypically trendy clothes, and lots of old video games.
- General Exploring/Driving: Jim (Amelia's dad) really likes driving us around and giving us tours of Guyamas. I feel like I've taken a billion pictures already.
- Coke drinking: I generally don't like soda much but the cola here is SO GOOD! Mia said they make it with real cane sugar in Mexico, and the coke bottles look like those ones from the 1950s. Hella cool.
Things I still want to do...
- Have a margarita.
- Get some neat, cultural souvenirs.
- Buy tequila for my mom.
- Collect more shells.
P.S.
The internet here's being an asshole so I'll have to post images later when I get home. :/
